Glossary

ADC – Analog to Digital Converter

Brute Force – Electrolysis typically performed utilizing un-modulated DC current. This method often generates a large amount of heat in the cell, and often more steam than HHO gas.

Dry Cell – An HOD generator consisting of plates who’s edges are not submerged in electrolyte solution.

Electrolysis – the process of separating water into it’s component gases through the application of electricity.

Electrolyte – A catalyst which improves the transfer of electrical current through a liquid. Common electrolytes include Potassium and Sodium Hydroxide.

Electrolyte Solution – Electrolyte dissolved in a liquid solvent. In HOD systems, typically Potassium or Sodium Hydroxide in water.

HHO - Hydrogen Hydrogen Oxygen, or Hydroxy gas. Referring to the gas created by the electrolysis of water.

HOD – Hydrogen On Demand

Plates – Metal plates used to pass electrical current through electrolyte solution.

PWM - Pulse Width Modulator

Wet Cell – An HOD generator consisting of plates completely submerged in electrolyte solution.
